RWDP are communication designers. We specialise in the creation of museums, permanent and temporary exhibitions, heritage centres and other visitor attractions. Our work often involves the design of complementary facilities like reception areas, libraries, audio-visual theatres, cafés, bars, restaurants and shops. Graphic design is an integral part of our approach. We create corporate images, signage systems, publications and branded merchandise.

Our consultancy work includes preliminary advice, feasibility studies and contributions to funding applications. Such studies may or may not form part of the normal design development process of a project. Often our clients simply require an independent assessment of the potential of their projects, or they want us to act on their behalf on very specific issues like negotiating with funding bodies, sourcing loan collections from national institutions, or providing an opinion about, say, whether a programme or budget is realistic. We have regularly assessed applications for funding by the Heritage Lottery Fund and monitored the implementation of approved schemes.
Our core staff is small, though we invariably work with two or three freelance designers as well as an unrivalled team of specialists in fields like lighting and sound, film and multi-media production, model building and scenic painting, editing and copywriting, planning and visualising.
